On Friday, February 26th, students from across the country had the opportunity to connect with various members of the Apeel team to discuss the upcoming summer 2021 internship program. Students submitted questions ahead of the event and live questions were submitted via chat that were addressed by our Apeel attendees.
The event opened up with introductions by Monica, our Internship Program Lead, and Bakari, our Internship Recruitment Lead. Discussing their backgrounds and current roles, they presented about Apeel and the internship program. Also in attendance were two of our summer 2020 interns who are both currently employees at Apeel. Alex, who works on the Strategy team, and Annie, who works on our Design team, both went through the application process last year and experienced what it was like to be in a fully-virtual internship program. Their insight into working virtually as an intern for Apeel was very helpful for students trying to understand what it takes to be in the program.
Throughout the event, attendees asked questions in the Zoom chat, which were fielded by Kyla, our People Operations Coordinator, to the rest of the Apeel panel. The answers and tips provided by the Apeelers gave students better insight into what it’s like to work at the company and how to navigate the application process. Many students stayed on after the event to ask additional questions, which our team loved.
All in all, it was a successful virtual event – especially as Apeel looks forward to hiring the next class of 2021 Summer Interns!
